Historically, the SEC has come to be known as the most dominant conference in college football. This past week, they released their all-conference teams as voted on by the coaches, with both first and second team kicker/punter honors going to Kohl's Kicking athletes. All athletes competed in the Kohl's National Underclassman Challenge and the Kohl's National Scholarship Camp.
Punter Gary Wunderlich was officially presented his Under Armour All-American jersey on Tuesday.
The first high school specialist to get an offer in the class of 2014 went to Gary Wunderlich. The University of Virginia offered Wunderlich a scholarship in February.
Every January, Kohl's Kicking Camps holds an invite only camp that features the best kickers, punters and snappers from the 2014 and 2015 class. This year, the 2013 Underclassman Challenge hosted a talented group of specialists chosen from the national Winter Showcase Tour in December.
Kohl's Kicking Camps has released their high school all-american list for the 2012 football season. The all-american team was based on the stats entered by athletes at kohlskicking.com throughout the football season. The Kohl's staff has verified these statistics with school athletic officials and other valid media outlets. Athletes are only allowed to qualify for one team.
With over 170 athletes, the Kohl’s Kicking Southern Showcase was the biggest showcase camp to date, with top talent from 20 different states. Each year this camp has grown and has become a trademark college evaluation camp in the southeastern region. This year it boasted a number of college-ready talent. The Southern Showcase may prove to provide the most invites to the coveted Underclassman Challenge in Florida this January out of all of the Showcase Tour stops this year.
