Talent Recap: 2014 Eastern Spring Showcase

The first stop on the Kohl's Kicking National Showcase Tour was New Jersey for the Eastern Regional Showcase. Some of the most impressive performances of the day came from the snapping division while under the evaluation of Kohl's Head Snapping Instructor Coach Kevin Garvoille. Multiple kickers and punters showed solid potential as well and should have a bright future as college football players.

Underclassmen specialists Derek Adams and Nick Null had a great showing at the event. Adams in the Class of 2016 had a great day with both kicking and punting. Adams capped the punt competition and placed fourth in kickoffs while Knoll won the kickoff charting portion of camp and connected on 8 of 10 field goals during the charting session

Class of 2015 products from New York Eric Rawson and Michael Tarbutt showed some of the most impressive leg strength of the day with Tarbutt coming out on top of the kickoff competition and Rawson showing very well during the kickoff charting period.

Jose Borregales from the state of Florida represented the class of 2016 very well. Borregales took the field goal competition in final battle with Jake Monteiro. Borregales hit a 56 and 55-yard field goal off of the ground during the competition.

Three punters from the Northeast region in the Class of 2015 that had solid performances were Zach Kolodny from the state of New York who also finished No.4 in kickoff charting, Matthew Barber from the state of Pennsylvania and John Bowers from the state of New Jersey. All three athletes showed very well during the charting stage of the event showing great potential.

Four Notable kickers who converted 7 out of 10 field goals on the day were Class of 2015 kickers Dylan Curran, Josh Leon, Jake Monteiro, and Class of 2016 kicker Aaron Boumerhi.

The overall most impressive performances of the day came from the snapping division. Class of 2015 snapper Matt Keller (6'0, 225lbs) from Pennsylvania won the snapping competition at the event.

Class of 2015 snapper Patrick Eby (6'2, 220lbs) from the state of Maryland won the charting portion of camp. He showed solid repeatability and showed he could snap the ball with great velocity and accuracy.

Matt Oliveira and Mike Pifer in the Class of 2015 both also had very impressive performances at the Eastern Showcase.
