Class of 2018 Specialist John Tessitore Commits to Boston College

The first kicker/punter in the Class of 2018 to commit came last week as Choate (Connecticut) combo specialist John Tessitore committed to Boston College. Tessitore's commit comes after a very strong 2016 season in which he posted an 80% field goal success rate, pinned 10 punts inside-the-20, and played a key role in the team's championship game.

Tessitore showed his true colors during the New England Class A Championship Bowl where he was responsible for 16 points. He converted 3-of-3 field goals, 3 extra points, and ran in two fake extra points for two 2-point conversions. The Conecticut newspaper described him as "a point scoring machine" in the title game. He also added a successful onside kick during the game.

During the 2016 season the former quarterback also proved successful on four fakes. These included a converted 23-yard pass during a fake punt, a 2-point conversion throw, and personally running in two 2-point conversion runs. He set his schools mark with 76 total points by a kicker.
